Types of Wounds

There are different types of forces that could cause damage to your skin which will result in a type of wound. The most common types are shear force and tension force.

  • Shear forces are a type of dragging of the skin with another surface. The term is also known as friction force.

  • Tension is a force that is meant to pull or  stretch with another object that could cause an open wound. For an example, Tensile force is caused by sharp objects that could easily tear the skin.
